FigJam

Figma's whiteboard, useful mainly because it sits next to the design files.

Definition

A collaborative whiteboard for workshops, affinity mapping, journey maps and diagrams. Its main advantage over standalone whiteboards is proximity: boards live alongside design files in the same workspace and permission model.

Craft convention. True because the industry converged on it. Breaking it costs familiarity, not correctness.

Good for

  • Workshops
  • Affinity mapping
  • Early flows and diagrams

Watch out for

Fewer facilitation features than dedicated whiteboard products, particularly for large sessions.
