The most widely used automated accessibility testing engine, available in browsers and in CI.

Definition

An accessibility rules engine available as a browser extension, a testing library and a CI integration. Its findings have very low false positive rates, which is why it is the common baseline.

Craft convention. True because the industry converged on it. Breaking it costs familiarity, not correctness.

Watch out for

Automated testing detects a minority of WCAG issues. A clean report is a starting point, not a conformance claim.
