OKLCH

A way of writing colours where equal numbers look equally different.

Definition

A perceptually uniform colour space expressing colour as lightness, chroma and hue, available in CSS.

Craft convention. True because the industry converged on it. Breaking it costs familiarity, not correctness.

In plain language

A way of writing colours where equal numbers look equally different.

Example

Stepping lightness in OKLCH produces an evenly spaced ramp; the same operation in HSL does not.
