Definition

A mode within Figma providing measurements, variable values, asset export, change tracking and links between design components and their code implementations.

Craft convention. True because the industry converged on it. Breaking it costs familiarity, not correctness.

Inspection is not specification. States, edge cases and interaction behaviour still have to be written down somewhere.
